Dhoni and boys are tiredDhoni and his boys must be really very tired of playing cricket coz of the heavy schedules but not the local gully players of our country. Yeah that’s true. Mom was peacefully sleeping and I was happily going through a book and as I was turning the pages, I heard a loud round of applause and people shouting on top of their voices. Was curious though and just had a peep through my window to see what was actually happening. And to my surprise, there were some young guys that had gathered together and were playing a cricket match. This is not usual here at our area. Rarely we find a group, playing a cricket match. And seeing a match with all cheers and applause’s around, I felt so enthusiastic. I felt like going and joining them. :D Of course mom wouldn’t have allowed me to do so :| . But I really felt happy seeing them.

I just got out of my bed, grabbed the camera and ran on to the roof and started clicking some shots. Well, they did see me clicking photos coz I had switched on the flash… :D Some of them were actually posing at the camera…I just ignored them saying in my mind, “I have come to capture the action not your poses idiots!” :P

And here are three pics I would like to share with. I captured many… but these were quite good enough.

Jun 22

The 25th of June 1983. No Indian cricket fan can forget this day. The day when India won the 1983 World Cup against England West Indies at Lord’s which was marked as an unforgettable moment in the history of Indian cricket.

Here’s a glance to the members of the `83 Indian World Cup team:
Kapil Dev, the captain of that World Cup winning team; Sunil Gavaskar, an incomparable batsman; Balwinder Singh Sandhu, the man who started it all by bowling out Gordon Grenidge; Syed Kirmani, the finest wicketkeeper India has ever seen; Yashpal Sharma, one of the most astounding heroes of the ‘83 triumph and the charismatic Sandeep Patil.

Hence to celebrate this graceful moment, Vijay Mallya the proud owner of the United Breweries Group together with the BCCI have joined hands to honor the winning team of the `83 World Cup to mark their 25th anniversary of this cricketing milestone on the 25th of June, Wednesday. Also said that the team will be on a tour to Lord’s on 25th to commemorate this special day and later a dinner will be hosted by the UB Group for the team in London to provide the event a perfect ending.
